Stamatina
Vassilaras, fashion designer of the couture collection STAMATINA
was born on the 11th of August in Brooklyn, New York. Being
raised in a metropolitan city with such a diversity of people,
it was not hard at all for Stamatina's fashionable imagination
to take daily rides to different parts of the world.
As a young girl in the fashion capitol of the United States,
Stamatina would hold a pencil in her hand and sketch dresses
before she was even old enough to realize that this was
her passion. As she pursued other avenues in life, Stamatina
always felt incomplete. The years passed and as the desire
to share her creativity grew Stamatina finally decided to
start her fashion studies at Katherine Gibbs College, in
New York City.
After six months, Stamatina moved to Greece where her roots
are from. She was always inspired by Ancient Greece and
wanted to experience what it would be like to actually live
in Athens. Finally, she had the opportunity to feel and
see what it meant to live in Greece. Stamatina once again
started her fashion studies from the beginning at Veloudakis
Private Fashion College in Athens. Once the school year
was over, a contest came to the designer's attention, "Young
Fashion Designer of the Year". With not much thought
since the deadline was only a few hours away, Stamatina
took her designs and immediately entered them into the contest.
A few days later, she was asked to design in front of the
instructors and within hours, Stamatina had won a scholarship
to attend IEK AKMH Private College in Athens, Greece.
During her studies in IEK AKMH, she had the pleasure of
going to Paris Fashion Week with her school.
Stamatina was captured by the beauty of Paris and became
even more determined to touch the lives of others through
her designs. She moved back to the United States in 2007
and within a year, she had her first of several fashion
shows. These events opened doors for the young designer
such as sponsoring charity events, being featured on the
internet, and seeing two special people winning their pageant
titles in Stamatina LLC gowns.
In 2010, Stamatina is introduced her line, Black Pearl by
Stamatina. A line so chic and simple yet so elegant and
